Homemade Salted Caramel Sauce

This salted caramel is the easiest caramel recipe and only requires 4 simple ingredients. It tastes phenomenal on anything it touches.

The process of making caramel sauce can seem daunting at first, but with practice comes confidence!

INGREDIENTS FOR HOMEMADE SALTED CARAMEL

– Sugar – Cream – Unsalted Butter – Salt

HOW TO MAKE HOMEMADE SALTED CARAMEL

Heat sugar and ¼ cup cold water (60 mL) in a heavy bottomed, medium sized sauce pan on medium high heat. Do not stir.

Warm up the heavy whipping cream in a small saucepan. Just to barely a simmer.

HOW TO MAKE HOMEMADE SALTED CARAMEL

Once the sugar has reached 350°F and is a dark amber color, immediately stir in the cream. The caramel will bubble and rise, so be careful.

Once smooth, remove from heat and add the butter and the salt. Stir until smooth.
